DVD will feature alternative ending where Charlie gets back from Santa Barbara all pissed off and kills everyone on the cul-de-sac. The pathos of this character is actually quite fascinating, and something that doesn't get explored enough in movies (probably because it's not all that sexy. At first, his career aspiration seems to be all about vanity (and perhaps it is to a degree) but once we actually get to set with him, it becomes clear how much he genuinely cares about doing a great job, even for a little bit part on a random show. That's a very universal struggle - wanting to do a good job, beating yourself up when you don't perform as well as you could, and using that fire to perform better next time. It's quietly inspiring.

In reading some of the reviews on here, this film divides audiences. I'm on the positive side of the fence on this one.
In short, it is not a straight forward film, so if you want things to happen, plot to move with pace, or have a blockbuster style isn't going to easily please you.
Some films don't require much in the way of an obvious overarching plot, clear sub plots, or clever twists, but are just happy to meander through a story, piecing a world one scene at a time.
Yes it's a lover letter to film, of a place and of a time. And yes you could see this as self indulgence on Tarantino's part.
I was happy to sit in this world for two odd hours, with quality scenes, acting and script. There are most definitely funny moments, whether they be obvious, nuanced or just because of Tarantino's trademark gratuitous violence.
If you're still curious, go see the film.
